- The 0th Law: The Thermometer Effect Before the glasses appear, we see three boxes (A, B, and C). By using Object C as a mediator, A and B sync their temperatures. This establishes the baseline: if two things are equal to a third, they are equal to each other.
- The 1st Law: The Energy Balance A glass represents the system’s “Bank Account.” A red arrow pours Heat (Q) in, raising the liquid level, while a yellow arrow draws Work (W) out, lowering it. The liquid level is the “Internal Energy”—it never magically appears or disappears.
